BENCHMARKING SULTAN AGENG TIRTAYASA UNIVERSITY (UNTIRTA) ON RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) AT FIPP UNY
The Faculty of Education and Psychology UNY received a Benchmarking visit on the Management of Recognition of Past Learning (RPL) from the Postgraduate Program of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University Banten, Tuesday (12/12), in Session Room 1 FIPP UNY.
The delegation was led by the Deputy Director of Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Eng.A. Ali Alhamidi, S.T., M.T.. Prof. Ali said that he had heard information that UNY had successfully managed RPL, therefore they wanted to learn from UNY about managing RPL both from the pattern or system, the learning process, and others. He added because the interest of registrants in the master / regular in the UNTIRTA postgraduate program was down, one of which was because Banten was a large industrial area, so they tried a strategy to find students with the concept of RPL.
Meanwhile, the Faculty of Education and Psychology at UNY was attended by the Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Dr. Iis Prasetyo, MM., the Vice Dean of Planning, Finance, General Affairs, and Resources, Dr. Agus Basuki, M.Pd., the Vice Dean of Research, Cooperation, Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Siti Rohmah Nurhayati, M.Si., the Chair and Secretary of the PLS Department, Dr. Puji Yanti Fauziah, M.Pd, and Dr. Yudan Hermawan, M.Pd, as well as the Chair and Secretary of the Educational Administration Department, Dr. Slamet Lestari, M.Pd, represented by Dr. Priyadi Surya, M.Fill, and Aris Suharyadi, M.Pd the Vice Dean of Research, Cooperation, Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Siti Rohmah Nurhayati, M.Si., welcomes the presence of UNTIRTA and considers their visit to UNY to be very appropriate, because if someone comes and studies at UNY, they usually surpass UNY. However, Dr. Siti Rohmah is open to sharing information with anyone. She also hopes that in the future, other collaborations can be carried out in addition to this RPL collaboration, so that they can collaborate with each other.
The Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Dr. Iis Prasetyo, MM., adds that in managing this RPL program, UNY has built clear and strict systems and regulations. Dr. Iis also mentions that this RPL program is suitable for the Banten region, as it is an industrial area with bustling job opportunities. "With the existence of this RPL program, it is suitable for workers who want to improve their knowledge capacity and meet the required academic qualifications. UNTIRTA must be able to see this opportunity," she emphasizes.
Dr. Puji Yanti Fauziah, M.Pd., also shared her experience in managing the RPL Program from 2021, 2022, and 2023. According to her, this RPL program can be used as a strategy in finding prospective students for both Bachelor and Master levels. Especially for Masters, this is done by collaborating with institutions engaged in out-of-school education and community empowerment.
Meanwhile, Dr. Priyadi Surya said that the RPL learning process is flexible, with approaches and learning methods designed in such a way that students and lecturers can do learning well, and still refer to learning outcomes. (rit)
