COACHING CLINIC FOR THE PREPARATION OF COMMUNITY SERVICE PROPOSALS (PKM) FIPP UNY
Yogyakarta, March 18, 2024 - The Information System Cooperation Research and Business Division of the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP), Yogyakarta State University (UNY) held a Coaching Clinic for Drafting Community Service Proposals with DRTPM funds today. The event, which aims to facilitate lecturers in preparing quality community service proposals, was attended by various related parties.
In the opening session, the Vice Dean for Research, Cooperation, Information Systems, and Business of FIPP UNY, Dr. Siti Rohmah Nurhayati, M.Si., gave directions to the participants. She emphasized that the responsibility of universities is not only to disseminate knowledge through teaching and research but also to solve problems in society through community service. In this case, the dean has signed a performance contract with the rector regarding Community Service (PkM) with external funds. In addition, some time ago there was coaching for research proposals for DRTPM competition grants, and today there is special coaching to accelerate PKM proposals. Dr. Siti Rohmah also underlined the importance of motivation for lecturers to submit proposals, as well as the need for enthusiasm in submitting PKM with external funds as part of efforts to increase faculty income generation.
Meanwhile, in the material delivery session, Dr. Darmono, M.T. a lecturer from the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UNY who is also one of the DRTPM reviewers, provided valuable insights to the participants. Dr. Darmono highlighted the importance of producing real outcomes in every service activity. He also warned that the community service activities facilitated by UNY should not make the institution complacent, but must still have a positive impact on society. In addition, Dr. Darmono also emphasized the need to think about the impact of service research conducted on society.
In the discussion session, Dr. Darmono invited UNY to continue to be innovative to get external DRTPM funds, considering that the previous year only a few groups managed to get it. For 2024, three groups of PKM schemes must be considered, which are Community Empowerment, Entrepreneurship-Based Community Empowerment, and Territory-Based Empowerment. Dr. Darmono encouraged us to at least prioritize community-based community empowerment.
At the end of the session, Dr. Darmono gave an explanation of the proposal systematics, which included the title, summary, introduction (which contains partner profiles, partner problems, priority problems, and solutions), implementation methods, and Budget Details (RAB). The discussion was very interactive, with participants actively asking questions and sharing experiences.
It is hoped that through this event, UNY lecturers will be better prepared and motivated to make quality service proposals so that they can make a real contribution to the progress of society and education in Indonesia. (rit)
